UBLExplain

Privacy Policy

UBL Explainer is built to be a privacy-first toolkit for working with UBL and Peppol invoices. This page explains exactly what we do and do not collect.

UBL files are processed locally

Every tool on UBL Explainer is implemented as client-side JavaScript. When you paste or open a UBL XML file, it is parsed inside your browser tab. The file is never uploaded to a server, and we have no way of reading its contents.

Files are not uploaded

There is no backend that accepts your invoices. No XML, no embedded PDFs, no filenames, no supplier or customer data and no VAT numbers ever leave your device through UBL Explainer.

Invoice data is not stored

We do not store, persist, log or share the contents of the invoices you check. Once you close the tab, the data is gone.

Analytics

If Google Analytics 4 is enabled for this site, we may collect generic, aggregated usage events such as which tool was opened, whether a validation was started, how many issues were detected and a coarse file-size bucket (small, medium or large). We never send invoice contents, filenames, supplier or customer names, VAT numbers, exact amounts or any other identifying data to analytics.

Advertising and cookies

If Google AdSense is enabled, ads may be served on some pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our sites and other sites on the internet.

Users can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
