Frequently asked questions

What does the UBL Viewer do?

It parses a UBL Invoice or CreditNote and renders the key fields — supplier, customer, lines, VAT, totals — in a human-readable form, without rendering the underlying XML.

Can I download a summary?

Yes. You can copy the summary as JSON or download it as a .json file. Your XML never leaves the browser.

What this tool does

The UBL viewer renders your UBL XML invoice as a clean, readable summary so non-developers can quickly inspect supplier, customer, line items, taxes and totals.

Common UBL and Peppol problems it detects

  • UBL XML is hard to read by eye.
  • Customers receiving structured invoices often want a human-readable preview.
  • Implementers need to verify that mapped fields actually show up in the document.

Why this matters

Procurement and finance staff rarely read XML. A visual summary helps confirm that supplier details, line items and totals look right before the invoice is dispatched or paid.

Example: spotting a wrong customer

An invoice sent to the wrong AccountingCustomerParty will be visually obvious in the viewer: name and VAT number appear at the top. In raw XML the same issue is buried 50 lines deep.

How to fix the issue

  1. Open the viewer and paste your UBL XML.
  2. Verify supplier, customer, lines, taxes and totals at a glance.
  3. If anything looks wrong, return to your ERP or invoicing system and correct the source data.

Frequently asked questions

Does the viewer change the invoice?

No. It only renders the XML you paste. Nothing is uploaded or modified.

Can I print the invoice from here?

You can use the browser print dialog. The summary view is designed to print cleanly on A4 and US Letter.
